The 2014 Kosta Browne Gaps Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 750ml is from the Petaluma Gap region of California. Kosta Browne is known for their intensely-flavored and balanced wines from the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast and Santa Lucia Highlands appellations. Founders Dan Kosta, Michael Browne and Chris Costello have watched their hard work pay off, rising from (essentially) garagistes in 1997 to one of the most sought-after pinot noirs from California. In fact, I recently read that the current wine club membership is maxed out at around 12,000 members and there are currently over 15,000 on the waitlist! Their 2009 Sonoma Coast received Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year award. If you love big pinots and chardonnays, then this is definitely the wine for you.
Wine Spectator - 90 points
Supple and generous, with ripe plum and blackberry flavors, this is aromatic and delicate, enticingly friendly and easy to drink, ending with fine-grained tannins.

The 2014 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown is pretty, silky and polished, even if it is lacking a touch of depth through the middle. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, blood orange and sweet floral notes give the 2014 its gracious, mid-weight personality. Bright chalk and minty notes add aromatic intrigue as the wine opens up with time.
